Western Women's Conference 2010

Centrepoint & Promise - Session 1

24 September 2010 - 26 September 2010

You are invited to gather with other women to experience the Western Women's Conference! Take time to recognize and celebrate the Holy with laughter, stories and song. Experience the practice of gratitude; savour grace as the Spirit moves through and within us.

This conference is a time to be in community, to share our own stories and the stories of our Christian tradition. Theme, worship and music leaders will help us to explore the theme  Centrepoint and Promise.        
Join us to sing, worship, talk, pray, walk and play with women from across Western Canada.

Offered by women from Nelson United Church, in partnership wtih Naramata Centre.

Please Note:  Accommodations - If you wish to be placed near other people on site, please ensure completed registrations reach our office on the same day.  Private rooms are not available.

Keynote Presenters: Omega Bula & Donna Sinclair

Omega is an African Canadian born and raised in Zambia. Working in international and ecumenical contexts, Omega leads from her strong belief that a transformed awareness of systemic injustice, which grows out of lover for theother, is the key to abundant life for all. Omega is currently the United Church's Executive Minster, Justice Global and ecumenrical Relations.

Donna, as journalist for over 30 years, has covered a wide range of topies and traveled to Africa, Central America, Britain, Eastern Europe and much of Canada. The author of several books, including the recent publications The Spirituality of Gardening and The Spirituality of Bread, Donna is active in local environmental issues in North Bay, ON and in the writing of her next book.

Worship Leader:  Keri Wehlander                                                

Keri, is a workship leader, hymn lyricist and author. Spirituality and the arts have provided a primary focus for her work; her books are much used worship resources in congregations and by individuals desiring to deepen their prayer life. Keri is passionate about exploring ways that our encounters with God's presence can hold and sustain us. 

Music Leader:  Barb Myers

Barb, is a pianist and vocalist at home in a wide range of musical styles. A playful, obersevant, and soulful music leader, Barb helps people to sing with their whole selves. Exploring music's deep connection to faith and life is her passion. A classically trained musician, Barb is also a diaconal minister in the United Church of Canada.
